Ernest Mapukula has a BSc (Hons) in Mining and Environmental Geology from the University of Venda and MSc in Geology from the University of Fort Hare. He has over 9 years’ experience in production, modelling and resource estimation in base and precious metals.

Ernest’s work experience includes geological logging and mapping, production and grade control, resource modelling and resource evaluation of platinum and iron ore in South Africa. He has previously worked at Anglo American holding various positions such as Mineral Resources Analyst at MinRED (AAplc), Section Geologist at  Bafokeng Platinum Mine, Pit Geologist at Mogalakwena Mine, Resource Geologist at Thabazimbi Iron Ore Mine. He is fully conversant with the Datamine and Surpac modelling packages.

Ernest currently holds the position of Resource Geologist in Applied Geology and Mining (Pty) Ltd. working in resource evaluation and resource auditing.
