Ngonzi
Kiiza has
a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Physics, Chemistry
and Geology from Makerere University Kampala (MUK)
from Uganda and a Masters of Science (MSc.) degree
in Mineral Exploration from the International
Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences
(ITC), University of Twente, Enschede the
Netherlands.
She has 17 years of work experience spent in both
the mining and non-mining sector having worked in
Uganda with Branch Energy (U) Ltd followed by a
venture into the UK voluntary and public sectors and
is now currently in South Africa working within the
coal mining industry.
Ngonzi’s mining work experience
includes geological logging and mapping, resource
modelling and resource evaluation, production and
grade control of coal in South Africa. She has
previously worked at Anglo American Thermal coal
holding initially the position of Senior Geologist
then moving to Resource Modelling at the Anglo
American Thermal Coal geological services at
Witbank, South Africa. She is currently working with
Applied Geology and Mining (Pty) Ltd as the Mine
Geologist for Tendele Coal Mine in KwaZulu Natal.
